Wow. You should write fiction. For one thing, an ICBM from Russia or China would be detected. For another, getting a payload of a swarm of drones to survive the extreme conditions of ICBM launch and re-entry would be a challenge in and of itself, and even the deployment mechanism for releasing a swarm of drones at the exact altitude and position needed at hypersonic velocities would need its own research program separate from ground targets or airbursts. Then, coordinating the swarm for any useful purpose would require advanced algorithms and near-realtime communications and all of the logistics for that (satellites etc). Is the military researching advances in what we can do with ICBMs? Sure. Is the military researching advances in what we can do with drone swarms? Definitely. But to suggest that China and Russia are deploying drone swarms over the US via ICBM without the launches being detected is straight up ludicrous.

The much vaunted new Russian Oreshniks seem to be fragmenting before they reach their intended targets, based on what's been seen in Ukraine, definitely not capable of something as delicate as delivering a drone swarm. Likewise, the Kinzhals have a high malfunction and interception rate beyond the "unstoppable hypersonic weapon" claims they had as well.

I don't know what they briefed Nancy Mace with but I'm pretty skeptical of the PP's claim it's drone swarms deployed by ICBM. Plus Nancy Mace suggested they were from "outer space" - many experts have shown the vast majority of the drone sightings are much more mundane and terrestrial than that.

You should focus more on your reading comprehension and less on trying to deliver witty insults.

I never said it wouldn’t be detected at launch. The IR SURSATs in geosync would see the thermal plume immediately at launch. The polar phased array stations would pick up trajectory as soon as it cleared the horizon. So yes, there would be warning. You or I wouldn’t know about it, but plenty of the right people would.

Secondly, as for “re-entry being a challenge”….perhaps you should Google something called “Project Mercury”. It’s now totally declassified, and should provide you plenty of understanding how a payload can be brought down from hypersonic speeds of suborbital flight and slowed down enough for a parachute to be deployed.

Thirdly, yes, real-time communication with drones via satellites is 1990’s tech for us and them. Imagine what 2024 tech is capable of.

Anything that we’re doing, China is doing a year later, and Russia could do, because China sells Russia (some of) what it’s thousands of spies (and some of our own moronic politicians ((looking at you, Swallwell)) glean from our own defense industry. So China has 2023 US tech, and we could do this back in 2013. You do the math.

There’s a ton of things that happen that the public never hears about…mostly because very few people were ever aware of it to begin with, and the people that are, take their jobs seriously because they care about protecting this country. We’ve been in a low intensity war with China since Obama’s first term. But everyone has to act like it isn’t happening, and keep the public from freaking out.

Of course. The FAA prohibited kids and real estate photographers from flying their drones the size of a frisbee that weren’t the subjects of interest to begin with.

Everyone else - whoever else - still gets to fly their drones the size of cars. Problem solved.

I can’t speak for the credibility of each and every sighting , but there’s a few that stand out in my mind as legitimate and unimpeachable - the ones made by tower controllers at those two regional airports in northern NJ. I think the people who operate airports know what an airplane looks like. And if they’re shutting down the airport they operate because they see something they know isn’t an airplane, then I trust their word on that, because not only do these people stare at planes all day and night, but they also have a radar map with all the ADSB squawk data from each aircraft. If *those* people are reporting this phenomena, then there’s something to it. They have no incentive to shut their airport down, knowing it costs them money and potentially puts flyers at inconvenience and maybe even risk to divert them away for the period of closure.


I think whatever/whoever was operating whatever these things were, they’ve stopped because of the spectacle that was created and all the attention it was getting.

China owns land next to 19 military bases all over the place in United States including Hawaii. I wouldn't be surprised if the drones flew out of a warehouse when the sun goes down and doing surveillance at night.
