I’m a PP who said I only care about ordering uniform right now, and that is only because everybody everywhere says that Capelli takes forever. With my kids being new to the club it’s not like they have a previous uniform kit they could wear in the meantime. And the club is switching to a new uniform kit the following year so if we get this one many months late, it’s a pretty big waste of money. |

My kid doesn't play for Herndon but I agree that early April to mid-June is an unreasonably long time to wait to even see a roster. We always had the rosters at different clubs well before the end of the spring season, and that was with late April-May tryouts.
I don't think its unreasonably long to send uniform ordering out *provided the club uses a responsible vendor*. Sadly that is not capelli. |
The high school ECRL teams barely even play any games in the spring, so getting a uniform well into fall and then having to order another one next spring would be really irritating. |
If we give Capelli the least bit benefit of the doubt - some of those supply chain disruptions might have been one offs and you'll get your kit in a reasonable time frame. The excuse from prior years was tied to local strikes/geopolitical conditions. We haven't had capelli for 4 years, but back then it came promptly. |
its weird to commit to a team in early April and its the middle of June and you still don't know who else is on the team? is any other sport like this?
|
They have some story about supply chain problems *every* summer. |
Yeah, I don't understand their business model. Why are they so bad at the one thing they do? How do you have enormous delays all the time? |
I would love to know more about this business. How are the logistics soooo difficult that it takes 3+ months when they promise 3 weeks? They know approximately how many players from each club they contract with, so they know what to stockpile in advance. |
I am very frustrated with the email they just sent. Last week, they said rosters would be available and uniforms could be ordered *this week*.
It's Thursday of *this week* and now they send an email saying uniform info will be sent *next week* and rosters are "still being finalized" and we should hear "soon"? Tryouts were in early April. Its mid-June and they are still putting teams together? How? Why? They also have a whole section in the email about how they can't help you if your order gets delayed.... |
Is the hold up with the rosters from all the girls teams they were trying to start from scratch, maybe?
Shouldn't they have the first and second team rosters completely set on the boys side? |
I dont get telling us last week that we would get the info this week and then postponing. What is the delay? |
Younger teams play in the Dulles tournament August 23/24 for planning purposes and practices generally start around the first week of August. I understand being excited and all but enjoy your summer! |
Agree. At this point, there’s really no excuse for not sending the order link. I’m fairly certain DS’s roster has been finalized for a while if it’s about assigning numbers. I don’t care if I can’t see the other players or schedule yet because that’s been typical of past teams but we’ve never received a uniform order link this late. If they don’t have all the teams finalized, at least send the links for those that are. |
It was concerning that half the email focused on what to do about problems with your order or how your items might arrive late... There is no reason to not just send out uniform info per team once you have it. |
