Kind of strange. Colgate took the capital blue 23 goalie. Is the 23 class weak or the 25 strong.

Schools take players for all sorts
Of reasons and players choose schools for all sorts of reasons. If you try to apply only ranking knowledge and logic to player- school matches you miss all sorts of data points that can impact those matches.

Another example of people not understanding how strong some of the players on Capital Orange really are.

The ‘25 Capital Blue team has been exceptionally strong, even compared to other Capital Blue teams, and was the first year in a while that really grabbed a bunch of Pride players (combining best from both clubs) more than usual. So, quite frankly, there are some Orange players that would typically be Blue players many other years. Given that most years almost all Cap Blue girls go D1, not surprised to see a number of Orange D1 commitments this early. The pool is deep. Also, this is probably why we haven’t seen as many/any Pride commitments yet. I suspect we will see more Orange and Pride commitments as the fall plays out.

This can all be traced back to the missteps of the Pride 23s.

Great context and reminder of the history. The 25 Orange team played well and unselfishly this Summer, which attracted many college coaches to games. The recruiting director does a great job with both the Blue and Orange teams.

.

People are also forgetting that some schools may offer a player a lot more money and that is a reason for some players making one choice over another more lax or academically prestigious school. Not everyone can pay for an Ivy - no athletic money- or Ivy equivalents that do offer athletic money with only a 10-20% scholarship.

Agree with this. Daughter got into an “Ivy-like” private school with zero money. Chose in state VA school instead. 4 years of in state tuition is cheaper than 1 year at the private?!? Didn’t make sense for us.

25 Marquette commit was also originally on Orange.

At the end of the day, there will likely be little difference in the schools for those Blue Players not yet committed and the top of the Orange list. We already have seen that with the Holy Cross commits on both teams.

M&D Black goalie to St Joe’s. Plays for #2 DC / #7 national ranked Glenelg.

Hmm - St Joe's team ranked #54. Can't imagine why she'd chose to go there
