The Madison coach would have been a great pick up. He has been so successful however, I don't blame him for staying at public. Whatever they are doing in Vienna continues to work. Expect them to just always be contending for state championships there.

It may take something of a Unicorn to fill this job. One has to be willing to put up with parents, work for basically free, have strong lacrosse IQ, and be connected to clubs for recruiting. This is not an easy find. This is not a "full time"gig

wow. they have no coach, no 2027 class, and probably no 2028 class. the hard core lacrosse families have to be flipping out.

From what the parents I know and have said about VLC/Cavs, I would hope not…. There is a reason why they do not have a 2028 team this year and last year did not have a 2027…

I think we might have our first truly competitive season for the top spot in the area in a while. There are five teams that could plausibly be the best next year:

GZ
Prep
SJC
Bullis
Landon

Right now I’d probably go

1. Prep
2. SJC
3. GZ
4. Bullis
5. Landon

But I don’t think anyone has definite separation right now. I do think those five are clearly better than the rest of the pack though.

Bullis was average last year and they graduated 2 starting defenders, two starting attackmen, and two starting middies. While their 2025 class is very strong, I think they are a year away from being a serious DMV contender. Their 2024 class is very weak relative to the programs listed here.

On paper, Gonzaga and Landon have plenty of talent but coaching at these programs is rather suspect.

Prep is the wild card with their dorms and picking up out-of-town transplants.

The Cadets while the best-coached team on this list, it will be interesting to see how they respond without their All-American keeper and All-American FOGO.

Agree with the PP, the degree of separation between these programs right now will be razor-thin.
