| Hi- new to this so bear with me please.. Guidance Counselor says we may be hearing acceptance via email. Really? That was not the case with our DD.. What is your experience? |
| YES they do come via email these days...cheaper than the mail (for most schools). DC should have created an admissions account with the admissions office that they can log in and check status as well. |
| He did but I really thought that was just for notifications and just in case something was missing! I hope he's been checking! |
| Phone calls. |
| Usually the email tells you the decisions are up and you check the decision on the school's admission portal. A few schools are still old school and use mail. Last year for my DC that was Georgetown and BC. If you are admitted you typically get a packet in the mail several days later. If WL or denied probably not. |
Check college confidential. There will be a million posts once the decisions are out. |
Yea along with the posts of kids who supposedly did everything, joined every club, got perfect SATs blah, blah..... |
| I heard Purdue is notifying 12/12 |
My DC did get phone calls from accepted schools but it was after the decisions were posted. |
| The Virginia schools send letters. |
| DC was notified about Penn State when he logged in to his account. A mailing arrived about 3 days later. |
One site says 12/12 another says 12/15. |
UVa posts in the student's portal. |
So does VT, who is releasing ED decisions tonight after 5pm. |
| Amherst is 12/12. |
