Prayers for employment not being answered

I've been out of work for more than a year. I've prayed, and have had others pray for me. I've submitted prayer requests to a local monastery, which they solicit. But, nothing. I know prayers are not necessarily instantly answered, and it's not like ordering something from Amazon, but I'm wondering if this is some kind of sign.

I have some savings and am doing OK, but I'm feeling more useless, and hopeless, as time goes on. I don't want to be rich, just make a living.

Not sure what to make of this. I guess everything God does happens for a reason. I don't know what this reason is.

Didn't you read what OP said? Lots of people have been praying about this for a long time. What makes you think your prayer will help?

OP, does knowing someone on the internet is praying for you, make you feel more hopeful about finding a job?

My friend, that was what is called an affirmative prayer. I'm sorry that you don't appreciate it. It is my hope that the OP understands the intent. I do believe God has a perfect place for the OP. I believe that He is already working it out. I believe that the loving Source of all that is desires nothing but the OP's highest and best.

Incredible -- begin comforted by a stranger on the internet who tells you that the God who has not been answering your prayers is going to answer them soon. I agree with the poster above who directed you to the jobs forum.

BTW OP - my DH and I went though this. He was unemployed for over a year. We didn't understand, but we never wanted for anything. Fast forward later, it was meant to be that way - we had a family issue that worked out with him being available. Also helped DH look at himself and improve some other things he would not have done had he just been getting a steady check. Each challenge increases your resilience and it is all in how you look at life. When the time is right, the right door will open. You want the best fit, not the wrong one! He did finally get a job offer, and it was better than anything we were expecting.

Stay encouraged! Don't focus on how things seem to look now, begin preparing for the best. It will happen.

Divine intervention was not needed for any of this. Nice that he was available to deal with the family issue but do you really think God engineered him losing his job so he could look out for family interests? -- and then God found him a really great job when the family issue resolved? God did this for you while letting children die and poor people get even poorer?

You sound very angry. I'm truly sorry about that. I am not just a "stranger on the internet" anymore. The OP reached out in distress and I responded. I've never met her but I am connected with her just as we are all connected. You don't know that God has not been answering prayers. God isn't a magic genie who lives in a bottle and grants wishes. He is the Source of all that is. The Creative Consciousness that binds us all together. I believe He (She, It, ...whatever label you choose) sees a much bigger picture. I believe that it is His desire for the OP to have happiness, peace, and prosperity. I also believe that our thoughts create our reality. Affirmative prayer creates a shift in consciousness and that can bring about major change.

So Yes. I do believe that the OP is being guided to the right place of employment where she is needed and appreciated and where she has something important to give and to receive.
