ECNL forcing Brave & Union Partnership

Anonymous
A question for current Brave parents joining FVU for the 2024-2025 season.

How much playing time is your child currently getting? Are you expecting that number to increase, decrease, or stay about the same?

If you go to the ECNL website and select post season under events - they have their post season structure, format and qualifications for Champions League, North America Cup, and Showcase A and B

Well there is one area club that currently has 5 out of their 6 girls teams in the top 5 and going champions league.

VDA - 4 Champions League qualifiers
NVA - 3 Champions League qualifiers
Union - 2 Champions League qualifiers
BRAVE - 1 but maybe 2 Champions League Qualifiers
Arlington - 1 Champions League Qualifier

What about boys?

DCUM doesn’t care about boys.

DCUM doesn’t care about boys, or MYS doesn’t care about boys? The focus on MYS/FVU is always on the girls side, but there is rarely any discussion of the boy teams. I get concerned as a parent of a boy that MYS is more focused on the girl teams than the boy teams.

ML listening to parents and it’s killing the team. The girls deserve better than that.

Finally someone said it. At Jeff Cup this team beat teams twice as good as the teams they lost to since. They have the talent to play much better than the recent results.

Pretty sure Real Colorado is better than any team you've played all year. Close game in SC, but I hope you saw the gulf in quality from that game alone. If you can't beat Real Colorados of the world you have no shot to advance in champions league. Winning your group will be a major accomplishment so celebrate that if you can manage to achieve that. This is true for every team around here not just the VA ones

With MV taking over the FVU10s next year. The side deals with parents will end. Enjoy!

I'm a sports fan, not a sports nut. Early on in my career I use to sit in mtgs where the first 10 mins was wasted on discussing the merits of everyone's football team and criticism of their performance from the weekend before. I would normally give them 10 mins before informing them that they had zero influence on the game and get a life.

Fast forward to 2024, You have zero influence on the game, get a life.

You sound like a joy to be around.

Anonymous wrote:My big takeaway from all this is that Union 10’s and Arlington 11’s are best two teams in the area. Otherwise then would not have a bunch of middle aged parents tearing them apart on a damn soccer forum. So both are doing something right. The haters all have kids who either came from those teams or don’t have a sliver of a chance making those teams.

Keep it up Union 10 and Arlington 11. The haters are jealous and it shows

I think the major point is that Union 2010 were dominant when younger and have slowly gotten worse. Same is happening with Arlington and will continue to.

Not true. 2010 Union won top flight of Jeff Cup in March, including a strong win (3-1?) over CSA (top team in mid-Atlantic).

Union has had a great U14 season, but the wheels seem to have fallen off in the past two months. Maybe its fall-out from the merger, maybe its missing players, maybe something else.

BSC 10, VDA 09, VDA 06, RU 09 all won their groups last year.

ML can’t handle the parents. When things get to the point that parents can just dial a coach’s number and the coach picks up the call, it’s over.

From the outside looking in, it definitely seem like the 2011 have been impacted by the merge news. They are talented but are really struggling.
