| Does anyone here do it? It looks interesting. I'm strong - lots of core strength as well as upper body and legs but my cardio fitness isn't brilliant (ok but not brilliant). Will this hold me back? Does cardio come into it at all? |
| I do Solidcore once a week in addition to 5days a week of boot camp and running 10-15 miles a week. It is a good addition for me. It is completely different than any other exercise. I have a ton of core strength and it kicks my ass. I don't think it is particularly cardio intensive, but I'm in good cardio shape so I might not notice as much. The big downside is that it is expensive. The first class is 19. Go give it a try to see what you think. |
| I have a friend who does it and posts about it quite a bit on Facebook. She loves it and says it changed her body. I would love to try it but there is not a studio near me.....and it's pricey! |
| Where do they offer it? |
| I'm the first place. There are 4 studios in DC. 433 Mass Ave, A-M on Columbia Road, a studio in Shaw (the only one I haven't been to) and Cathedral Common, the new development on Wisconsin Ave. The first one in VA is opening in Ballston this week. |
| "First poster" not place. |
|
Bump. Apparently they're opening a new location soon in Old Town Alexandria (ish), near Lost Dog Cafe & Sugar Shack (ironic much? heh)
Any other people try it? What does a "class" structure look like? |
| How "in shape" do you need to be? |
| It's hard...very, very, very hard. But, I find it addicting and after 1 month I'm seeing major changes in my body. I gave been a fairly fit person for the last 20 yrs. Solidcore is on a whole different level..I love it |
| Isn't it just pilates? |
| I've heard it said that Solidcore is like Pilates on crack. I don't really know as I only ever did one Pilates class but I recall not enjoying it in the slightest whereas I love Solidcore |
Ha, no. So very much harder than a traditional reformer class. |
| I'm trying to figure out why I want to torture myself like this. How does it change your body? |
This is a weird question since everyone's body is different. Why don't you just try it. First class is $19 |
This is a weird answer. Death changes your body, blood loss changes your body. Steroids change your body. Asking HOW something that PP would have to spend time and money doing changes your body is completely reasonable. Responding "try it, the first class is $19" is not reasonable makes it sound like a cult. With that said, my neighbor loves it. |
