Zero.

There are 287 pages on this topic. That is dumb. This is an internal issue setting rules. They tell you when it is ready. People do not want to listen. If it was approved yesterday, and that is an if as it may have been deferred until there is more planning or feedback, that is not the final step. There is a lot of planning still to do. If there was a decision yesterday I think you will hear something this year -- before New Year's Day. But as to when it goes in --- who knows it could be 2026.

Why create another year of trapped players? Delaying would be stupid

Agree if the decision is made to change delaying over a year is dumb. Spring is logistically impossible but fall 25 makes way more sense than delaying.

I think the only thing the BY, SY or GY can agree on is IF there is a change it needs to happen for Fall 2025. US Soccer will screw that up though.

I think everyone presupposed that there would be a final vote yesterday. I do not think that was the case. There are a ton of disparate parties on this committee and my bet would be that they just had the full discussion based on all the available info and that a true "vote" will take place soon but not immediately. Not everything is instant gratification. I still stand by that US Soccer will give leeway to the various governing bodies to do what they think is best for their specific needs and not pass any type of mandate.

Par for the course with US Soccer and the pay to play clubs. The kids and families are the last to know and are an afterthought. "Why don't we have a soccer culture among the youth on this country?" Kids are anxious about this, give them closure on way or another.

You do not even have a right to know. It is the sausage making process. You do not get to see it. You will learn the decision in time for whatever deadline is there.

Agree about kids wanting clarity. Some coaches and parents started chatting about it. It got out.

Don't agree about parents being afterthought. With pay to play, it's the opposite. As elite, but impoverished international players have said, they never would have made it in the American system. In other systems, the clubs only make money if other clubs gain rights to the player. So, the clubs only want the best and work hard to develop them. It doesn't matter if the parent has money or not.

A change will be dictaed on when they think they will be ready. It is not as simple as oh we voted so here is the change. There is at least 6 months worth of work to get ready for this. Could they do 2025 -- maybe. My prediction is that they will not. 2026 it is. It is not about the kids int he system now. It is about future years.

Because the issue is more important than one more year of trapped players. They want to get it right for the next 25 years. One class is not important to the decision.

I’m not stating who I am, where I’m from or what I do but. I have family that work for US soccer and we have been discussing this over the past month. I can tell the decision has been made and the change is coming most probably by fall 2025 as they are still working out the logistical formats.

They know its 60% will embrace it and that is why they have brought together the 3 largest governing bodies of youth soccer so they can have everyone on the same page.

The announcement will be made most probably the week before Christmas.

Can you find out the date they’re using as a cutoff?
