Tryouts in Dec are just for the littles (U8, U7, U6). Rumor here is that those groups will not change until 2026.

They are just trolling. No one believes they are changing all the rules for spring 2024

Because it doesn't matter for this year. As long as they give everyone enough time for tryouts for 25/26 move if this is urgent. Nice if this matters for the spring season.

I hope the delay is because ECNL will have the last fall game this Saturday.

I hope they will give some updates on Monday.

You can hear about the meeting on Dec 4 on the ECNL podcast.

Thank you for mentioning this. It makes the most sense. A lot of kids will be upset with possible changes and there’s no need to say anything until all games are over.

Not sure why folks expect an official announcement yesterday. It was clearly stated in the last update:

The next U.S. Soccer Board of Directors meeting is November 22, 2024. We expect this topic to be on the agenda for that meeting and, consequently, a formal and public decision made by the end of the calendar year.

Meeting has been moved to November 22nd, 2025

The update from US club soccer was saying the same thing

We will present the findings and recommended path forward at the Board of Directors meeting on November 22. U.S. Soccer plans to communicate the path forward to the ecosystem by the end of the year.

ECNL fall season doesn't end until Jan? right? My DC has two more games in Jan.

How often do they make weekend news releases? How many of those are about governance decisions?
