Yes, sometimes I just remind myself that they didn't got into a drugs, or rape, or sex abuse. They didn't steal anything. The rest is not a big deal.

I agree. DH doesn't do well with drama or conflict which are so clearly evident during the teen years. Just praying for none of the truly awful stuff to happen - like 8:27 says, it could be even more challenging.

Right there with ya! I'm thankful that I'm only dealing with horrible attitude, a slob and teen that does not wake herself up in the mornings, vs my sister who dealt with sex, drugs, alcohol, fighting, skipping school, destroying their house, running away and barely graduating..>WHEW! It's been a tough road for her. I remind my DD that if she even tries to do the things her cousin has done "I will stomp her into the ground!" LOL. So far, so good.

I also miss that there is just not as much time for carefree fun time. They get home from school/activities and have to shut themselves in their rooms with piles of homework.

This too! DD is finally mostly out of her nasty phase, although still not without some moments, and is so busy with her beloved activity (which we only get to see performed a few times of year) and homework that I feel we are missing out on our last real family time with her. We talked about it last night and she agrees. All these teen suicides in FCPS where she is a student make me want to jump off the crazy train and take the kids off of it too. Then there's the god awful Rolling Stone article about a horrific campus rape at UVA - ugh. Just gets depressing all around.

You sure they're doing HW? If they have a laptop or smart phone in there with them... I fear what else they could be doing.
