| Trying to increase fish consumption for my non fish eating family. Is there a way to make tuna casserole without Campbell's soup? |
| Sure. I just make a beschemel sauce (flour/butter roux into a paste, then loosen with milk), add cheese(s) of choice and then tuna. Finally mix in cooked pasta and anything else you want. I put into a dish and sprinkle crushed Ritz crackers (your choice of breading) and bake. It's pretty easy and better than making with canned soup, although canned soup is easier (I've done both, so I don't think that canned soup is bad, just that homemade is better but more time consuming). |
| Gaa. You want to increase fish consumption by serving tuna casserole. Unless you were born in the 40's or before this is shear laziness. |
| Come on. Try making baked Trout, seared salmon or fish tacos. Tuna Casserole is just yuck. |
| Try these. Our kids love them! http://thepaleomama.com/2013/03/salmon-patties-with-a-creamy-lemon-dill-sauce/ |

If you google tuna casserole and Martha Stewart you will find a good recipe. I think she has several versions. I use the one with artichokes. Really enjoy it.

Should've added, we just skip the dill sauce and use lemon juice. |
Not the OP, but I like upgraded tuna casserole. It is good comfort food in the winter. I've made this a couple of times and everybody enjoyed it: http://www.thekitchn.com/recipe-grown-up-tuna-noodle-casserole-recipes-from-the-kitchn-182849 |
| Love tuna casserole. Makes me feel 10 years old. I like this recipe: http://www.skinnytaste.com/2011/01/skinny-tuna-noodle-casserole.html?m=1 |
Looooove this. On our menu this week! |
I feel like broiling salmon (or any fish) is "lazier" than putting together a whole casserole! |
I read the PP's laziness reference not as about the amount of time to construct the dish, but it being a lazy, and likely futile, step toward increasing fish consumption. Tuna casserole in the traditional sense is more akin to a mystery meat. |
| I love tuna noodle casserole. It reminds me of my mom. |
| Revolting. |
