The Capitol was closed that day. It's not like these people wandered off from their group tour.
And for all the bleating the right does about law and order and how much better it was in the old days, these people would have faced a firing squad in "the good old days". |
It's strange how the GOP doesn't want "the good old days"for themselves, just for the rest of us. |
Frankly it would have helped nipped right wing terrorism in the bud if it had been clearly and forcefully dealt with. |
LOL, I'm not arguing that but Speaker Johnson offered that weak tea recently. |
The courts have already released most of the defendants who plead guilty to await this ruling. I wonder how SCOTUS will rule?
Bet the dems will be concerned! At what point are the dems going to do anything about SCOTUS? |
What, exactly, do you expect? They don't have enough senators to impeach any of them, law enforcement seems to be turning a blind eye, and they don;t have the votes to add justice. |
Yes just do nothing and accept their corruption. Wonder what the republicans would do in similar situations. I am sure they would do nothing as you advocate. The dems are not even upset that Thomas is hearing the case. |
Dems have not even asked for a special counsel to investigate SCOTUS. WTF? Guess they are too scared of the republicans? |
Given that Thomas and company will shortly free all the Jan 6th’ers why would anyone think they will not free trump if he is convicted?
What a waste of time. |
What is a waste of time? |
Guessing you're a bot, a middling HS student, or an op as you are unfamiliar with how the branches of federal government work. |
“Donald Trump could have cleared up confusion and hastened the arrival of National Guard troops to quell the Capitol riot if he’d called Pentagon leaders on Jan. 6, 2021, according to recent closed-door congressional testimony by two former leaders of the D.C. guard.
Michael Brooks, the senior enlisted leader of the D.C. guard at the time of the riot, and Brigadier Gen. Aaron Dean, the adjutant general of the D.C. guard at the time, told House Administration Committee staffers that if Trump had reached out that day — which, by all accounts, he did not — he might have helped cut through the chaos amid a tangle of conflicting advice and miscommunication.” https://www.politico.com/news/2024/04/17/trump-jan-6-capitol-riot-national-guard-00152757 |
Yes you tell it like it is! SCOTUS is above the law. |
This is the primary reason, an indisputable reason, Trump should never hold public office again. A mob of hundreds breached security at the US Capitol and he, as the sitting president, sat a mile away and watched it on TV for hours without doing anything as his staff and family frantically tried to push him into action. Biden may be a very weak presidential candidate for the job through 2029 but he is qualified for the position. Trump's failure to fulfill his duties as Commander-in-Chief that day disqualify him permanently in the minds of any sane American. Integrity matters most. |
