| Curious whether there was any new news from the State of the Schools program today. |
|
I guess our school didn't want parents to attend the State of the Schools speech at Strathmore because they had a meeting for parents that night. Love how MCPS is in sync with one another.
On a more serious note: I thought the number of parent meetings throughout the day on Veteran's Day was disrespectful to the purpose of the Holiday. MCPS should use it as a day of educating the students of the sacrifices people who have served have made to our great country. Instead, MCPS treats it as a convenient day for Parent Teacher conferences and meetings. |
My dad was a vet, but MCPS has to work sometime. |
| State of schools sounds like only emphasis was on achievement gap and hiring Hispanic teachers. The usual lip service to "rigor". Can another school system please make Starr an offer and get him out of here? |
+1005? pretty please! |
| Can we post his resume on monster.com... puh-leeeeease! |
best way to bring up the test score average: more re$ources to ESOL and focus on the bottom students. |
AKA - help the illegal immigrants and forget about the legal tax-paying citizens. |
Are you fucking kidding me? So you want schools to spend the day talking about Vets? You've got a screw loose. |
No one wants him. ever since he pissed off Duncan . . . |
State of the Schools was first thing in the morning, not at night. Parent conference day is purposely on Veterans Day, when many people (especially with all the Feds in this area) have the day off. It's intention is to be convenient for parents. You're welcome. |
