I guess our school didn't want parents to attend the State of the Schools speech at Strathmore because they had a meeting for parents that night. Love how MCPS is in sync with one another. On a more serious note: I thought the number of parent meetings throughout the day on Veteran's Day was disrespectful to the purpose of the Holiday. MCPS should use it as a day of educating the students of the sacrifices people who have served have made to our great country. Instead, MCPS treats it as a convenient day for Parent Teacher conferences and meetings.
State of the Schools was first thing in the morning, not at night. Parent conference day is purposely on Veterans Day, when many people (especially with all the Feds in this area) have the day off. It's intention is to be convenient for parents. You're welcome.
