I would make them take a poly.

So, you would not believe your sons? Sorry that you have so little trust--or do you really distrust men that much?

As for a poly--you do know they are not always reliable?

If the girl took a poly and it was clean I would want them to admit to me what really happened and expect them to submit to a poly if they were being truthful.

Yes, I know that they are not 100% ... who administers it is a big issue.

People make mistakes, covering up for my son's will not help them become honorable people. I don't think you can address something you can't admit. The problem is that parent bail kids out in HS, then in college and that is when they don't grow out of it or turn their lives around.

Also, my son's would have never, ever, ever have had a senior page like that. I know my kids do stuff they shouldn't but FFS, WTF. If they posted about Hymen or Taint... there would be a serious issue in my house. I set the moral code and treating women like objects to be collected is not okay. Have you even seen his yearbook?

I am Catholic, my H, my Brothers, my son's, my uncles, etc ... we are part of this world.

BK is a disaster and his friend Judge, even sober is an issue (as noted by his brother).

I don't think he should be convicted. I don't think he should be shunned by the community. I just don't think he can be a fair and impartial judge.

These are (somewhat) different times than when Hill testified. I don't think people, in particular women, will be pleased if the GOP goes the way of smear.

I’m not so sure. With midterms coming up that would be a very risky move that would certainly alienate women voters. I think they would be better off pressuring Trump to move to the next in line.

It's pretty self explanatory.

This is a lose-lose situation for the GOP. But they earned it by kowtowing to Trump. The best thing that could happen for the GOP is for him to withdraw.

And if they do this, will lose the senate in the midterms.

Do you think they will submit them?

The GOP is doubling down on the misogyny.

Hatch has already said she’s mistaken.

I think you've hit the nail on the head: GOP Senators must know this is toxic for them and for the midterms. But the question for Trump is does he care about that, or is he all about confirming the Sup Ct justice who will shield him in criminal investigations and prosecutions. We'll see, right?

What I hadn't remembered (or maybe hadn't understood at the time) was that the Senate was under the solid control of the Democrats at the time of the Clarence Thomas nomination. I think it was something like 57 Democrats to 43 Republicans. There is no one alive today who was alive the last time a Republican Senate confirmed a Democratic nominee. That was Rufus Wheeler Peckham, nominated by Grover Cleveland in 1895.

According to pool reports, Trump is not wedded to Kavanaugh. When he becomes too much of a liability, Trump will pull his nomination. He's not at that point yet, but it seems to me that it's fast approaching, possibly before next Monday.

Mid terms are lost cause. They will try to annihilate her to get him on SC.

Surely Ms Ford told at least her best friend when this happened.

The House, yes. The Senate is in play now.
