That's the first conclusion anyone comes to when they see anyone's black eye - man or woman.

The consistent abuse pattern with three women, two ex-wives, and one former girlfriend. The contemporaneous evidence, as well as accounts from well before the scandal broke -- a photo, a restraining order, a personal blog, warnings to colleagues (in the case of the girlfriend). The fact that the divorces came relatively fast and so young also suggest that both women had compelling reasons to leave a man that looked to all the world like the perfect partner.

If this were a conspiracy to bring down Rob Porter, these three women would have been laying a trail of clues for years in the anticipation that he would one day be in this position. A highly improbable supposition.

Well looky what we have here, Trey Gowdy, along with the House Oversight Committee, is actually getting up off his duff and investigating this White House.

“On CNN, Gowdy said that in light of the FBI’s statements, “the chronology is not favorable for the White House.”

“I think the really fair questions are what were you told, by whom were you told it, did you have some really good reason to question what the bureau told you, and if none of that was true, why did you keep him on?” Gowdy said.”

The women did not go out and publicize their past abuse. The Daily Mail UK sniffed out the story and contacted them.

I had one at 23, actually. This one was to repair cartilage that had sprung and impeded my breathing. Yes, I did. And damn proud of it.

One of the wives is now saying he should not be fired, that he has an impeccable work history. Hmmmm, what's she hiding?

Why do all these Republicans only develop a spine and a conscience when they announce their retirement?

Excellent spin — people (conservatives?) now suggesting that if there is a pattern of multiple women accusers (except presumably against people like Weinstein and Lauer and Franken), then it’s a liberal conspiracy instead of what it actually suggests: that the accused has a history of repeating such behaviors.

Yet nothing has really happened to any of those men, right? Aren't these crimes? Where are the arrest warrants?

One of Porter’s wives had a PFA order and another called 911.

A twice divorced Mormon? You think that's nothing?

You seriously think Franken should be arrested?

+1 An order of protection is a big deal. That means the judge saw Porter as a credible threat. An officer responding to a 911 call responding to a woman scared her husband will harm her physically is not nothing.

In any other administration, Porter would have never been allowed to keep his job.
