That is how our government works. We vote people in and they implement the programs we want by writing bills and then funding them. If you don't like the programs, the vote for people who are opposed to them. The problem you have is, these are laws and the programs are funded because it is what the people want. YOU don't like them, And the president cannot legally just not execute on the laws. so for this to happen legally, the congress, not the president, has to 1) retract the laws that created the agencies and programs and then 2) defund those no longer existing programs. Unless you want a king, that is the process. If you are that upset about what our government has done in a bi-partisan manner over the last 100 years and you want a dictator, then maybe the USA isn't for you. |
To be fair, I prefer universal coverage, like the rest of the civilized world has. Obamacare is really the GOP solution to the untenable health system we had prior to. You know, when people couldn't get coverage or they could lose coverage because they had the temerity to be born with a lifelong malady or somehow "caught" cancer somewhere along the way. You should be thankful you never had to deal with that. |
"washington DC running by edict" - I think your complaint is with the various house and senate members over the decades who created these agencies because there were issues the public wanted addressed that the free market is not capable of addressing. |
What a nonsensical statement. Middle men are individuals. They have helpers all over the place to continue the grift. What are you smoking? |
My complaint is with a command economy that's not taking input from market forces and the unintended consequences of that. Things like Gavin Newsom just deciding he's going to put 700,000 illegal aliens of health care and then pushing Washington to reimburse California for that edict. There's plenty of decisions being made in DC also from ivory towers where people to things that sound good, but in reality, they are unworkable and have been unworkable for 50+ years........ and now we're feeling the brunt of it. |
To continue.... it's even more maddening that people here have no understanding of micro/macro economics and every solution is just to have "the rich" pay more.
What f'n world do these idiots live in? |
So what should be prioritized over health care? |
So should we be spending 17 cents of every dollar on injectibles, constant doctor visits , sick care and pill pushing for eternity?????? |
What ever the EARNER wants to spend it on, not what some congressional staffer or an out-of-touch bureaucrat in a building in DC wants to spend it on. |
What I am trying to say is, it isn't some middle age able bodied guy defrauding the system, it is the corporate middlemen scammers. The GOP would have everyone beleive the welfare queen myth, which just isn't the case. |
the "out of touch bureaucrat" is simply carrying out the laws passed by the Congress. You make it sound like there are hordes of renegades with slide rules taking over the country. And the EARNER was able to earn the money they earned because people before them paid taxes to invest in roads, communications infrastructure and other pathways to the earaner being able to earn. Perhaps you would prefer going back to the days of Pa Ingalls and everyone out for themselves? |
Hmmm whyever could it be that healthcare in America is more expensive than anywhere else in the developed world? 🤔 |
Wow, look what happened in Arizona when it elected a Democratic governor and attorney general. Meanwhile, Republican Rick Scott is still the biggest purveyor of Medicare fraud in history and Florida elected him as governor and senator twice. |
|
There are hoardes of renegades who go through life daily with a mind set of "That SOUNDS wunnerful. Let's do it." They do not live in the everyday world. They voice edicts from ivory towers and everyone has to follow. Their world view is a world government that runs everything is best. If you ain't seeing it, you ain't seeing it. |
