House Oversight Committee Rolls Back benefits for all federal employees. High 3 pension moves to high 5 pension. Makes ALL federal employees pay 4.4% towards their pension (feds hired before 2014 pay a lower amount). This will be an automatic reduction in pay for long-serving employees. https://rollcall.com/2025/04/30/oversight-panel-endorses-cuts-to-federal-retirement-system/
Why would anyone want to work for our government now? Think about how fast (slow af) and intelligent (idiotic) your local DMV workers are. That's about to be the level of employees in all federal branches.
Um, they don't want people to want to work for the government...that's the plan. They are destroying the government.
Sorry. Cutting back a bloated behemoth of a government, that you believe should do womb to tomb everything under the sun for everyone, to a reasonable government, and not a friggen Soviet Politburo, is not destroying the government.
Per capita, it’s smaller than it was in the 80s. I personally want to pay taxes for cancer research, weather science, natural disasters (and climate policies), and social programs that help us all thrive. I believe in soft diplomacy too, because it’s been proven to work.
+1 Instead, are taxes are basically straight-lining to billionaires and we get no services in return.
Gee, we're living your dream. Tax heavily and let Washington DC run it by edict. Now you wanna complain?
"washington DC running by edict" - I think your complaint is with the various house and senate members over the decades who created these agencies because there were issues the public wanted addressed that the free market is not capable of addressing.
My complaint is with a command economy that's not taking input from market forces and the unintended consequences of that. Things like Gavin Newsom just deciding he's going to put 700,000 illegal aliens of health care and then pushing Washington to reimburse California for that edict. There's plenty of decisions being made in DC also from ivory towers where people to things that sound good, but in reality, they are unworkable and have been unworkable for 50+ years........ and now we're feeling the brunt of it.
