Is he in prayer every time he falls asleep in a nice cool crowded room? |
I guess we’ll see as his speech is tonight. |
Hope for him the teleprompter doesn't go out! |
+1 I swear the amount of cope that Republicans take in order to remain in their party has got to be reaching fatal dose level. There’s no centrist movement; the GOP will not course correct until they lose in a landslide. |
Why, is the election tomorrow? He’s got four months left. He’s been deteriorating for the last few years, though it goes unremarked by the “liberal” media. |
My favorite thing Republicans do online - other than insist Usha Vance is the most beautiful woman to ever exist and we are all lucky to have even seen a glimpse of her on television - is pretend to be liberals or independents voting for Trump. "I am an independent voter in suburban Philadelphia who has voted Democrat in the last two elections. However I am VERY impressed with the RNC and the GOP this election cycle! They are moving towards a moderate position, as evidenced by the fact that they chose a guy who says no-fault divorce shouldn't exist. Uh, I mean...anyway. I will probably be voting for Trump. Did I mention I'm an independent?" |
You find the woman who defended Jan. 6 and said that her look was "MILF-chic" refreshing? |
It's a thread about the RNC convention. We are discussing a woman who looked like she barely got out of bed to speak at the RNC. I sort of think it is intentional. Melania was always called "plastic" and "fake," I suspect Vance's handlers have his wife keeping her "mom next-door" look to appeal to suburban moms. |
Nancy Mace has been in office for almost five years and has been in the public eye repeatedly, most notably for saying she was late to the National Prayer Breakfast because her boyfriend wanted to have sex. You should keep up with the news. |
Moving to the center would have meant putting someone more moderate on the bottom of the ticket. They didn't do that. They gave Don Jr the primetime slot to say a bunch of nonsense that only makes sense if you watch Fox News and follow Truth Social memes. Earlier speakers like the WWII Vet and hostage's parents and Kai were moving, that's true. But Trump and Vance are not moderating their positions or moving themselves to the center. They're just hoping enough people will like the vet and the Neutras and Kai's story about grandpa giving her candy, and ignore their stances on Ukraine and abortion and the fact that Trump is a convicted felon who tried to overturn the last election. |
They are most certainly not moving to the center. They are moving to the extreme right. They are to the right of the traditional GOP. They have killed off traditional Republicanism and have recreated the party around Trump. It is no longer Republicanism. It is Trumpism. |
Apparently the ratings for the opening night of RNC convention are not as good as expected. You know how much Trump focuses on ratings, so he will not be pleased when he sees them:
Republican Convention Ratings Are Down “Despite Donald Trump’s dramatic appearance days after an assassination attempt, the opening night of the Republican National Convention drew in five million fewer viewers than the first night of the convention back in 2016 – when he became the party’s presidential candidate for the first time,” The Independent reports. |
As I said on another thread: the people I’ve talked to about Trump’s event just kind of roll their eyes. He’s a chaos machine and people are sick of it, they’re sick of him. They’re sick of division, like Ron Johnson’s speech on Monday (which somehow none of the “Wow, the GOP is so gentle and new and centrist” pps saw), and they’re sick of the violence, like a booth at the RNC giving away an AR-15. https://www.the-independent.com/news/world/americas/us-politics/rnc-trump-assassination-attempt-gun-b2580875.html The GOP is just unpopular. |
What I wouldn't give for one unbiased news source that everyone also had to watch in addition to their siloed stations...... My aunt stayed with me for 4 days and we watched MSNBC instead of her typical Fox and had some actually really good discussions and find out we agree on a lot more things. She literally watches Fox News for 8 hours a day typically. Msnbc did not talk about illegals flooding the borders for 7 hours and she said it was actually refreshing to not have this sense of fear all day.
I know MSNBC leans left but I really don't know another reputable news station that is center.... I read plenty of things from the associated press and other centered new sources, but as far as TV goes, they're just is not a lot |
I’m definitely voting D but I watched the R convention last night.
I’m so disappointed in the folks making nasty comments here. We don’t agree with what the R politicians are advocating for and we are going to defeat in the elections. After all that is over they are still Americans just like us. They have families and love their country. We need to take a step back and reunite on common ground. |
