It's making the rounds with the kids. My DD showed me as well. I heard announcement tomorrow. |
Regardless of the structure, McLean has the coaches, college placement success and stronger teams (w/ 1 exception) on the girls side, so I would think that it would be McLean/Union people in the key spots. |

AC Milan is still hosting tryouts... |
Funny about the website. No reputable organization will ever use that platform to build their business site. Non-sense! |
I just don’t understand why McLean coaches lack maturity to keep their mouth shut. Why are they running their mouth at their practices with their kids? I’m talking about teams that are not even ECNL. |
Are these soccer clubs reputable businesses? ![]() |
troll ✅ confirmed |
And still no announcement..... Go back to rec.

McLean is the lead. BRYC, VYS, and Brave need ECNL to have a pipeline for young kids to ECNL. Brave is getting kick out of ECNL |
A Brave Virginia Union of Fairfax and Vienna in Mclean. Kids going to look like a bag of skittles running up and down the field in those new unis. |
I've never seen so much time, energy, and effort spent debating the future of two clubs that at most age groups range from mediocre to awful. And I'm mainly talking about the boys side. Suggestion - rather than spending hours on this board contemplating something beyond your control - chart your own destiny and drive a little further to a serious club. To be sure, they all have issues and are driven by money. But, there is little reason for a skilled boy player to remain at Brave or Union. It's not a coincidence that the top level players almost all move elsewhere. At some point, the writing is on the wall. If "Go Big or Go Home" is the mantra, you are never leaving the house with Brave and Union. If it's not, then accept that your kid is just doing high level rec soccer and live with it. |
Most of this forum is talking about girls and the partnership should be pretty strong on the girls side! |
Guessing this won’t impact or involve GFR in any way. A combined Brave + Union would still be ECNL-only. People understandably assumed that because NM coaches at Union/McLean, was hired as the TD at GFR and continues to remain involved with DMV FC/TF, that there would be some kind of new relationship/partnership between these clubs. And that may still happen for all we know but it sounds like this consolidation between Brave and Union may have been driven by ECNL more so than the clubs themselves. |
Not true. |
