Of this list, where would MAPCDS (Madison ave presbyterian church day school) fit? We are debating between STMPG vs MAPCDS.:
TT of the TT: Episcopal and 92 Street Y Then: Temple Emanu-El, Brick Church, Park Children's Day on the UWS (huge connections at Brearley) Then: STMPG, All Souls, West Side Montessori, Washington Market, Garden House, Christ Church |
Either in the bottom grouping or the next tier down that just misses the list. It’s a pretty different school than STMPG though - formal vs super progressive |
| Thank you for your reply. We are not connected or sibling/legacy. What would you send your kid to if our goal is Dalton vs spence/brearley/chapin |
Garden House Montclare Children's All Day school good for the unconnecteds |
I would put All Souls up with Brick Church, I wouldn’t call it a T2 preschool. Episcopal, 92ndY, Brick, All Souls, REDS, and maybe Christ Church are kid of lumped together in my opinion. |
We went to All Souls as an unconnected family. No sibling/ legacy and got in to Brearley. |
| Btw, when people say “connected”, are they referring to siblings/legacy, or siblings/legacy and also knowing someone in the school? |
| I meant ti say we are an unconnected family. We got accepted to mapcds and stmpg. What would you recommend if we are consider dalton vs brearley/spence/chapin |
| I do not think STMPG sends many kids to Dalton. I think many/most go to Sacred Heart and St David’s. |
All of the above. Either a sibling, legacy, or they know someone on the board or on faculty/ staff. |
Thank you so much! Could you please shed more light on Christ Church? We got into Christ Church and Montclare and not sure which one is better for exmission (we are from out of state so don't know people who went there). Thank you so much! |
Christ Church>Montclare. |
Thank you so much!! |
| What about Park Children’s vs Christ Church? |
Where do you live? There is no way I would commute across town for preschool when you could have a perfectly good option in your neighborhood. If you’re UWS, go with PCDS, if you’re UES, go with CC. |
