Definitely.

Usually, these people have other similarly problematic takes.

100% this. I actually appreciate it because with the right people (DC moms are an excellent example), casually asking their opinions on the royals is a sneaky way to determine if I will be declining future playdates.

No offense, but "casually asking about the royals" would be a red flag for me.

"Wish You Were Here" is a better album than "Dark Side of the Moon".

Seriously. IDK what I'm supposed to think about this. Can't think of a single time someone has casually asked me about the royals.

Haha -- fair point. It's not something I bring up immediately or out of nowhere. But if the conversation turns that way, giving someone an opening to rail on Meghan if they are so inclined can be useful.

I hate John Mayer! He’s so punchable.

I’ve never seen Titanic and never had any desire to watch it.

I used to live in the UK and have had British people ask me if I'm a "Royalist" (usually as part of telling me they were not), but no one has ever asked me in the US and I would find it a really weird question!

Where do you live? I can't imagine anyone I know in NWDC bringing up tabloid junk!

Our forefathers fought a war so I do not have to give two craps about the British royal family. It would be disrespectful to their memory for me to care in the slightest.

It was ground breaking and brought important but largely unknown early American history into the mainstream for our youth.

It was a magical, exciting and interesting musical that my then DC 12 and loved seeing together.

But I can see why some might not enjoy the distinctive musical style …

I made it to the Christmas episode in season 2, which was hands-down among the worst things I’ve ever seen on television ever. Will never watch again, and I seriously side-eye anyone who gushes about this show.
