Question for Bethesdians (sp?)

Anonymous
I need a restaurant recommendation in Bethesda. I would prefer a smaller venue, not on the main strip and not with a corporate backing. Looking for delicious and reasonable (ca. $20/ main course). We are open to all types of ethnic foods.

Thank you!

Not sure if this is w/in budget, but Persimmon is great. Small, great service, excellent food.

When I lived in Bethesda, I loved Faryab - it's an Afghan restaurant in the Old Bethesda part. Perfect food for a cold autumn night and not a chain!

Yeah Nest is pretty awesome. Owned by local boys.

Faryab, maybe one of the Indian places (Passage to India or Kadhai), or Food Wine & Co are good suggestions.

Tako Grill and Yuzu are good for Japanese (or Satsuma if you want Japanese bbq).

Guardado's has pretty good tapas.

Guapo's over Tia Queta's on the off-chance you are looking for a fajitas and 'ritas type place.

I think Persimmon will be over your budget. I like Passage to India, which will definitely be at the top of the budget.
