She's a blank canvas. Don't worry. Trump will define her. |
Trump has been trying to define her and flailing utterly. He’s on what, his fifth stupid nickname? And he keeps complaining about not being able to run against Biden anymore. |

Candidate Harris proposed a more equitable situation at schools as kids felt threatened by having police officers on campus. Her plan was to remove police from schools!!! Well, than got there were 2 police officers at the school in Georgia. Only 4 people died. It’s still too many. But imagine if the school had to wait 10-15 minutes for police to arrive? Deaths could have been 10-20. The police officer at school was able to detain the shooter quickly. So remember her policy. |
Why not? Unfortunately, while there are many shades of gray, we only get black and white when it comes to the presidential vote. You can vote for Trump or you can vote for Harris. A vote for a 3rd party (like RFKJ) or not voting will tend to be a vote for the candidate that is doing the best in polling. In this case, many of us are definitely voting for Harris to prevent Trump from being reelected. He is a convicted felon, who is trying to get out of going to prison. He is also one of the most inept presidents that we have had in history. Let's start with economically. He inherited a strong economy and still managed to give huge tax cuts to the rich and corporations that ended up with the single largest increase in national debt over 4 year in history. He alone caused 30% of the entire national debt during his term in office. The deficit went up $8.1T to $28T at the end of his four years in office. The only other individual president who increased the deficit more was Obama who increased it $8.34T over 8 years, which was about $4.17T during each four year term. Trump increase the deficit more than the first 42 presidents combined. He also encouraged government corruption to an extreme amount. He made secret service and foreign dignitaries stay in Trump properties in Washington and Florida and charge the government elevated rates. He made on the order of $1M per year on profits off the USSS and foreign visitors. Ivanka and Jared used political connections they gained from their unofficial positions as Trump advisors to enrich themselves. They created business partnerships with companies and wealthy individuals in the middle east (mostly Saudi Arabia, but other nations as well) which allowed them to profit both during their terms in the White House and afterwards. He is a terrible bigot and has encouraged racial tensions against virtually all non-white minorities. Violence against each of these groups went up significantly during his term in office as he gave hinted support to White Supremacists, anti-Semites, anti-Asians and anti-Latinos. His foreign policy is terrible for the US. He has threatened to pull the US out of NATO. He curries favor with authoritarians like Kim Jung Un, Putin and the leadership of Iran. He supports many anti-women policies including abortion restrictions, banning of abortion medications. Despite what he says today, he is a known pathological liar who cannot be trusted. He has claimed many positions, but when he was in office, his actions showed that he was very consertatively extreme and regardless of what he says to focus groups or audiences that make him look less extreme, he still took extreme actions as POTUS. He is a radical and cannot be allowed to appoint more justices to the Supreme Court that could destroy personal freedoms in America for the next several generations. There are many good reasons to vote for Harris just to prevent Donald Trump from returning to the White House. If the Republicans had nominated any sane individual, I could understand your position, but his positions and the actions he had in the White House, show that this man is too dangerous to allow back into the White House. And if that means voting for a mediocre candidate on the other side, then so be it. |
Kamala Harris just went to Penzeys Spices and bought Creamy Peppercorn Dressing Base, Fox Point Seasoning, Trinidad Lemon-Garlic Marinade, Turkish Seasoning, and Tuscan Sunset Salt Free Italian Seasoning. |
That Creamy Peppercorn is my go to dip base. But the real win here is that she’s not a weirdo like some other people. |
Nice place to visit.
Owner spent 700k on anti-trump ads! I’m sure this was a planned photo op with people planted there. https://www.latimes.com/politics/story/2019-12-07/penzeys-spices-spending-big-on-facebook-ads-supporting-trump-impeachment Kinda like the 2 videos that came out when Harris was looking for Doritos. One edit had Walz finding them and handing them to her, one edit at the same place had her husband find them and give them to her. They tried to sell it like an organic moment, but totally staged. Cringe. |
And she’s apparently a great cook who will actually use them. Meanwhile, Vance can’t order donuts. |
Are you new or something? You think presidential campaigns make unscheduled stops? And of course you would think the people are “planted” there, that’s the only way DonOLD doesn’t get booed into oblivion, so naturally you assume everyone must have choreographed events. |
Yes. Two months before an election, everything a candidate does is a pre-planned photo op, designed to generate good press and look like a human who can connect with other humans. That’s how you manage to get good press and win elections vs becoming a national joke because the donut store employees refuse to be on camera with you and you can’t manage to just order three dozen assorted donuts and a couple dozen glazed for your staff, being sure to ask for whatever the shop is best known for (that some aid researched and told you to be sure to mention). Not hard and generates some feel good press— unless the candidate can’t connect. With other humans. You are looking at basic, competent campaign leg work. Harris’s team did the leg work and showed basic competence— which should be the bare minimum for a candidate for POTUS. It’s concerning that some campaigns don’t do the leg and the clips of the looking idiotic dominate the news cycle. Or worse, they do the legwork and their candidate still fails at ordering donuts. But no— none of this is spontaneous in a competently run campaign. |
I agree she's a blank canvas. Unfortunately I'm worried that Trump will not be able to define her. Never underestimate Trump's ability to screw things up. |
Can someone help me find the Harris ad run during today's Michigan-Texas game? I think it was a good ad that will appeal to the general public. It spoke to every day issues that people worry about. It didn't speak to her platform -- that would attract / detract depending on who you are. If the GOP used the same ad, I would also say it would appeal to people. It won't appeal to policy wonks, I'm talking about plain ol' folks outside of DC.
Anyway, I wanted to re-watch the ad but I'm clearly not entering the right kind of search criteria. Everything I get is about 2025 and the ad flown over the stadium. TIA |
