Come to class a little early and ask the teacher to help you with bike setup. You will want to wear something that avoids chafing, so bike shorts or at least yoga pants. Also, wear shoes with a decent sole, so the pedals don't hurt your feet. (I only mention this bc I work out in barefoot shoes, and it hurts my feet if I spin in them.). If you find you like spinning, you should get cycling shoes with cleats. It really enhances the experience.
You can control the resistance on your bike, so spinning is great for all fitness levels. Your butt will hurt at first; try to do a few spin classes in the first 10 days and you likely will find your butt gets acclimated. Your quads likely will be sore at first as well.
