Need a good moisturizer, that won't break out my dry acne prone skin and also isn't expensive. Any recommendations? I am currently using Cerave PM, but think it may not be enough. I tried Ponds (upon someone's rec) but it broke out my skin.
At night, I use the German formulation of Nivea creme. (Available on Amazon). Supposedly it is nearly identical in formulation to La Mer. Not sure about that but it's definitely made my 43-year-old skin just as smooth and glowing as La Mer did the one time I bought a bottle.
Elta MD - worth the $26 and you can get it on Amazon.
Honestly, I slather Jergen's Ultra Healing body lotion on my face. I feel like it's some sort of sacrilege to do it, but it has been the only thing that has ever worked on my super dry skin.
NP who has been following this thread. Do you have acne prone skin? I feel like that would make me breakout. |
Origins A Perfect World.
Coconut oil! But I'm 39 so maybe my answer doesn't count.
To the coconut oil person, do you have acne prone skin?
Paula's Choice has great products
In the winter I use Dermalogica's Intensive Moisture and in the summer, I use Aveeno facial moisturizer with SPF 30.
Kiehl's moisturizers.
I'm not the original coconut oil poster, but I have acne prone skin and have had luck with coconut oil. Supposedly coconut oil has some natural anti-bacterial, anti-fungal properties that help fight acne and inflammation. FWIW, I am 42 and have been using coconut oil for about two years. A little goes a long way.
I've been using Lancome for years, but I guess it doesn't fall into the "inexpensive" category. But a big jar costs me about $85 but lasts for MONTHS.
TO the Elta MD poster: does that include sunscreen? I use Elta MD UV Clear, and I wonder if that "counts" as a moisturizer. Thanks.
Clinique Moisture surge instense - I buy into all the clinique stuff, but that is my fav lotion. Keep a jar in my office desk drawer.
