| This is our first year in FCPS and I am home right now with my K child. Fellow parents, what do you usually do with your kids when school is closed? DC is not in SACC, so I can't send him there... |
| DH and I swap days off. We also pair up with other working parents in the neighborhood so the kids have playdates and not all the parents have to stay home. |
|
Lots of places offer one day "camps" for working parents. Or you can try to find a sitter on care.com. Some daycares take kids for the day.
DH and I switch off teleworking on those days. |
| yep my wife was home this morning and i'm heading home to cover the afternoon |
| These are also good days to schedule extended doctor's appointments, or take "field trips" with your kids that would be hard to do on a Saturday. |
|
Would love to know these "camps" for these one off days....
I am working from home with my kindergartener. Movie day while mommy works... |
| nanny |
| I parent my child at home. |
| We scheduled a camping trip--just got home from a great weekend! |
But hopefully not about empathy or you'd both lack it. |
Here's a list of spring break camps. The list for one day offs is similar. https://www.our-kids.com/spring/spring-break-camp-guide |
| In my neighborhood, the local dance studio, rec center, and arts center offer one-day "camps" on days that schools are closed. Some YMCA's also do one-day camps too. |
| I dump them off at the grandparents |
Thank you! Ive checked this list before for FCPS and unfortunatley, Arling Co has good one day camps, but they follow Arl Co schedule and only a couple of days work out to be similar. the remainder are way too far away for us. Oh well. Luckily I can work from home |
Pretty sure the OP was asking those of us who have jobs. |
