FWIW it isn't called SACC in Arlington, if that's why some parents are confused, just extended day.
Arlington parents, there are groups like Lola's Labs and Everwonder that I see advertised (and we've done Everwonder). They tend to run cams on teacher work days and spring break for my school (Nottingham) and I know we've done camps they've held at Barrett, Science Focus, and I think Taylor as well in a few church facilities. They may be broader than that, I just never paid attention. We're on the email list, but they also sometimes give fliers to the school to send home in Friday folders, so you may get something this Friday for next week's conferences. |
I don't understand your point. It's kind of a dumb question -- what do you do with a child that's home from school for a work day? The same things you'd do on a weekend... Bake, watch TV, go to the park, whatever. What's your point about "empathy?" |
How very Mormon. |
Uh huh. Now that you've been called on it, you're trying to cover up your holier-than-thou, condescending attitude by being purposely obtuse. Not falling for it. |
| Whatever happened to tsking your kiddos to the zoo or the museum or letting them play with the other neighborhood kids? |
| I take the day off if I can or telework, split time with DH, send them to a neighbor for part of the day, or send them to their TKD schools day camp. |
| How hard is it to take a day off to be with your kid? |
Depends on the job. Taking a day off isn't always so simple. This is where camps, etc. come in handy. |
