Eye makeup that doesn't smudge everywhere

Anonymous
I seem to have a major problem with eye makeup smudging all around my eyes. It makes me look like I am just waking up from a bender . What can I do to keep eyeliner and mascara in place? It usually ends up right under my eyes even though I don't use eyeliner or mascara on my bottom lids/lashes. It's not from rubbing my eyes, it seems like it just kind of slides off. I think the mascara issue is from looking down and having my lashes touch my face.

Any tips appreciated!

use waterproof formulas. A primer helps, too, although not as much as waterproof.

eyeshadow primer & water proof mascara. also make sure your mascara is old and flaking off.

Clinique gel eyeliner is the only kind that does not smudge on me.

I put the Urban Decay primer on my eyelids and under my bottom lashes. Also, use waterproof mascara.

I meant eyeliner. That's what I get for posting before coffee.

You need primer. Urban Decay primer potion is good. Put the primer on before you put on your eyeliner. I do a little pressed powder after the primer to help set it, then use Laura Mercier cake eyeliner applied with a flat brush. Then waterproof mascara (I like Maybelline Full n'Soft). My eye makeup lasts all day and even throughout sweaty workouts.

The only mascara that doesn't flake or smudge for me is the "tubes" type mascara like L'Oreal Double Extend. I wish it went on a little nicer but its the only thing I can wear.

OP here - thanks for the Blinc suggestion! It works!

But the eyeliner is still a challenge. My problem is that I often put liner on both the top and underside of my lash line (only upper lash line) and it smudges on the outer corner of my eye. I am not actually lining the inside of my lid, just trying to get the liner in between the lashes because my lashes are pretty sparse. Any ideas for that? Would the Clinique gel liner someone mentioned work? It doesn't seem to matter if the liner is waterproof.

Try the waterproof Maybelliene stiletto eyeliner. this, but waterproof: http://www.maybelline.com/Products/Eye-Makeup/Eye-Liner/line-stiletto-ultimate-precision-liquid-eyeliner.aspx
Pretty easy to dot into your lash line. I prefer the (very dark) brown to black.

I like Too Faced primer under Becca eye tint, which is water resistant. I think I saw this combination on one of Lisa Eldridge's videos. The whole thing comes off with jojoba oil.

Otherwise I'm not big on primers for things like foundation. In fact, I generally don't wear foundation.
