I need to make a res for a business dinner (tonite) at a steakhouse. Where can I get the best steak you ever had in DC? I never tried Bobby Van's or Smith and Wollensky's. I love Prime Rib. My fave was Sam & Harry's but I guess it's closed now. We can do a local or chain restaurant - doesn't matter, because it's international clients.

I think Ray's is the best, but you probably want something a bit nicer.
How about BLT? |
I've never done either actually. Maybe I'll give one a try. |
| Ray's is way nicer now. When it was down by Rosslyn, it looked terrible with the stark white walls and zero art or attractive fixtures. Now it's up in Courthouse and much more sophisticated looking. My favorite steak in the area. |
Unfortunately we're limited to a restaurant in DC. The clients really want to do DC tonite. |
| Have you checked Tom Sietsema in the Post for his steak recs? I've only eaten at Morton's and it was awesome, but I can't speak for the many other options. |
| Bourbon Steak at the Four Seasons in Georgetown. |
I agree that it's nicer now, but still far from "nice". It would not impress international clients, and they rush you out of there. |
| The Palm is an institution - I think clients like that. |
| Wow rays is ok but def not the best and not for a client dinner. Go to Charlie Palmer |

Del Friscos. |
Yup. And get the duck fat fries. Yum yum yum. |

I'd go to Morton's The Steakhouse.

I wouldn't go for anything. It used to be awesome, but they were bought by the chain that owns McCormick & Schmick and have gone way downhill. |
