| So delta dental pays for 2 cleanings a year, but not for floride? Who cleans teeth without that? |
| Are you talking about the fluoride varnish the dentists use for kids' teeth? Mine only covers that once a year. I have never had that recommended or done as an adult. |
|
Yes, that is what I am referring to. I will give delta a call. The kids dentist just did it automatically
|
| Fluoride is not teeth cleaning. |
| Isn't that only like 40 bucks? |
I know this is a shocker for many on DCUM, but for some people $40 is a lot of money, especially when you're not expecting to spend it. OP, we had MetLife and it was the same--just once a year, but our dentist and his staff were mindful of this and always ask, "it's not covered by your insurance this time, it costs X, do you want to do it or wait?" We no longer have dental insurance and my adult dentist and her hygienists are the same way--ask if I want X-rays, to have the dentist examine me after a routine cleaning, etc. I really appreciate that both offices are so upfront about what services cost. |
| Delta Dental covers it for me and my kids twice a year. I've never had to pay for it. |
| FTR, Delta will pay for anything as many times as your employer has negotiated coverage into the contract. We have Delta as well, and it pays for fluoride every time, b/c that's how my husband's employer has opted to provide coverage for it. |
| OP here. It was about 50 and I have to pay all of it. I am going to get the details of my coverage tomorrow. |
| Drink tap water which has fluoride in it, instead of designer water. |
