I was diagnosed with Chlamydia. I think I got infected by a friend and the condom tore a few weeks ago.
Now I'm dating someone new and we just had intercourse last weekend. We used a condom the first time, but also woke up in the middle of the night and had sex and I don't remember if we used one. I started having symptoms the day after and it took a few days and urgent care visits to find the right diagnose. I need to tell him about this so he can get tested. Is it wrong to do it on the phone tonight? We're planning on going to a festival tomorrow afternoon and I definitely want to talk to him beforehand. Should I try to meet him late tonight after work or invite him over tomorrow before going to the festival? I feel bad making him come all he way here (the festival is in my neighborhood) just to have this conversation. I know I would want to know before the festival, but I'm trying to decide when the best time/situation is to have this conversation. I feel terrible about exposing him as I had no idea I was infected. Please no judging or name calling. I feel bad as it is and I'm trying to so the right thing. |

Did your Dr say which person you more likely got it from? Is it possible that it's from the guy you are seeing?
If you are sure you gave it to him then I would call ASAP so he can go get tested this afternoon. Sorry to hear OP and I hope it gets cleared soon. |
| Tell him ASAP. If it's by phone, then do that. You really need to slow it down though. Unprotected sex with two men so quickly, isn't good. It's not judging, it's advice. |
| It's treatable so just let him know asap. Also I agree with PP about maybe stop having frequent unprotected sex - as you are now learning. |
Since I had symptoms the morning after our first intercourse, they said while it's not completely impossible, it is very unlikely he gave it to me. It takes a few days to months to develope symptoms, so it's unlikely he have it to me. I can't be sure I definitely gave it to him, but it's very likely I gave it to him. |
I used a condom with my supposed friend but the condom tore. I used one with my current one but not sure about the midnight sex. But I get it. I will definitely be more careful going forward. |
You had sex with a friend and two weeks later, you are dating someone and having sex with him. Condom or not, that's very risky. Get yourself completely tested with everything and tell him |
| so casual about sex lol, "yeah a friend or some other friend and probably when i was sleeping it happened" |
The sex with my friend was like 1,5 months ago and I started seeing the new guy shortly afterwards. So it's not two weeks and I slept with the new guy right away. And people have needs, and I thought sleeping with my friend would be the safest way to meet those. I've been single forever and didn't expect meeting a great guy when I did. Clearly, I was wrong. People make mistakes. |
| Tell him on the phone ASAP. Don't be surprised if he doesn't want to go to the festival tomorrow. |
| Don't get too worked up, it's really no big deal. Just tell him so he can get the Rx. You do the same. You both will survive, your relationship, maybe or maybe not. |
Fully prepared for that. I'm also prepared that he won't want to see me again. I just want him to know so he can get tested. Just wanted to get opinions how to best go about that. I'll call him as soon as possible. |
| How can you not remember if you used a condom the second time? Even in the middle of the night, I can't imagine not remembering. Unless you were drunk? Hopefully the guy will remember. Anyway, there's no easy way to do it - just make the call. This post is similar to another one a short while back about when to tell new BF about herpes (maybe on explicit forum?). |

You have needs? It's called masturbation...
You also need to call your "friend" because he needs treatment too |
