Hidden gems at Wegmans?

Anonymous
Heading to wegmans this weekend...I have my usual things that I buy, but maybe you all have some hidden gems that you always pick up when you're there for me to add to my list?

I go to the one in PG county because it's closest to DC

YAY wegmans!

It has been a while since I went there. I love their bakery section (fresh bread!!!) and everything in the prepared food section. If you need any specialty items or ethnic foods this is the place to go. Their hot dogs are a big deal for NYers. Sorry I don't have any specific recs.

They used to be the best bakery around but to save money their cakes have less cake and more icing.

Even better, IMHO!

The store brand lemon hummus! And the frozen artichokes - you can make Giada de Laurentiis's awesome Turkey and Artichoke Stuffed Shells with them.

They have a good "ethic foods" section with a much bigger selection than most mainstream grocery stores.

Including a wide selection of British foods-if you're planning to celebrate the failure of the Scottish independence vote.

Yay! Don't forget to get the pancetta there, too - you'll need it for the sauce. Hungry now.

It's over by the cheese and it comes in a package, pre-cubed, to save yourself some prep work.

OP here - I should make stuffed shells (vegetarian though) but we have a freezer full of ready to go manacotti - I just have to layer sauce and cheese. It's SO easy it's ridiculous.

Which reminds me - their own brand pasta sauce. Must buy.

I love the recipe but I don't have a good substitute for the ricotta cheese for my seriously lactose intolerant dc. I've made ricotta from lf milk but it yields so little. It looks like a wonderful recipe.

I love the freshly squeezed juices right by the entrance.
