Any part-time federal employees who are off Mondays?

Anonymous
I am considering starting a PT schedule to have Mondays off. Do I just lose the six(?)Monday Federal holidays? Is there a way to work it so that I switch my days off? I know offices vary but I am looking to see if anyone has any BTDT advice. Thanks.

I am a PT fed. At my agency, you would lose the holidays if you choose Monday as your holiday. I use Wednesday as my off day.

Yes, you will lose the holiday if it is your regular day off. I also take Wednesday off.

Yes, that's why most people don't take off on Mondays.

You'd definitely lose them. We AWS here and you still lose Mondays off.

It's okay if you're jealous.

It would be the same at any private company allowing a reduced schedule. I don't get the "boo hoo".

at my agency, if you are on AWS and have a monday holiday as your RDO, your RDO moves to the tuesday after the holiday.

Did you just count up the federal holidays? I hate to break it to you, but there's actually a total of 10 federal holidays throughout the year. Those lazy feds.

Medical condition of self or family. Don't know any other way.
