Any part-time federal employees who are off Mondays?

Worked hard in my job for 12 years and then I asked. They said yes. Took a huge pay cut to do it.

Why not take Tuesday as the day off since there are so many Monday holidays?

It's okay if you're jealous.

Not jealous at all. I don't work Fridays. But I don't complain that everyone gets the Friday after Thanksgiving off. Just be happy about a flexible job.

Did you just count up the federal holidays? I hate to break it to you, but there's actually a total of 10 federal holidays throughout the year. Those lazy feds.

Hate to break it to you but of the are not always on a Monday- (eg Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, July 4th and Veteran's Day) - only 5 are always on a Monday. So it averages to around 6 Monday holidays.

At my agency it's the same except that it moves to the prior Friday. This is for a full time person working a compressed schedule though, if you're part time and Monday is a day you don't normally work I'm guessing you'd lose the holiday. Sounds like a question for HR.
