What do you pay for after care at MoCo elem school?

DS starts K next year. We're looking to buy a house in Rockville. I'm wondering how much to budget for after care. We might need before care too. How much do you pay? Does the cost change based on the child's age? Thanks!

It varies based on the program. By a lot. We pay $400/month for 5 afternoons a week. This is for Kids After Hours. Some programs charge very little (like Global Gardens) and some charge more.

I think most charge the same flat rate for any kid in elementary school. It's very rare to have a choice of aftercare provider in MCPS. Some schools do have two or more but usually one provider has a basic monopoly in that they are the only ones on-site and no one else buses from the school.
We pay $600+/month but I think it's one of the most expensive ones in the county as far as we could tell.

It varies by the school. At Rock Creek Valley ES in Rockville we pay $530 a month for 5 days of Before/After Care.
At out old school in Silver Spring we paid significantly less - about $440 a month.

Beall ES in Rockville is $55/week for aftercare, or double that for before and after.

Fallsmead has KidsCo. About $400 per month. I have 2 kids and there is a slight discount for the 2nd kid. We do 5 days a week. Charges are prorated if you do less.

If you know which program is at your ES, you can take a look at their site to see what they charge. It seems to vary by program and school. For instance, Bar-T at 1 school might be less than at another school due to the school demographics.

$488 at KidsCo for before and aftercare 5 days a week. They also cover the afternoons for early release days and days off for non-federal government holidays like professional days or religious holidays.
