Anyone else have this problem? I guess we'll have to start ordering Deer Park or something.
What exactly does mold case like? Tap water can taste like metal but if never be able to identify a mold taste.

We bought a countertop distiller, so we could distill our own and not have to lug the bottles up the stairs.
It's probably your faucet. Run it for a few secs before you fill. This happens to us from time to time and it's not the water itself.
I had a neighbor who complained of awful-tasting, foul-smelling water. When the plumber came he found the problem was the filter in the faucet - it hadn't been cleaned in years and there was terrible grime and build-up.
No, it's the DC water that tastes like mold. I taste it at home, at work, and at restaurants in NW DC, in water that's been through a brita filter and water that's been through our office industrial purifier. I have read that it may be connected to algae blooms, and shouldn't be a health risk; have also read that some people are much more susceptible to tasting it than others... I am still looking for a more "official" explanation...
Clean your faucet, install a Pur water filter. Done.
DC water is vile. They switched from bottles to chilled tap at work so I bought my own personal office water cooler. I can't believe people can drink the stuff. Now NYC water, that is delicious!
yes. Past week taste like dirt. We received a community notice because we live near a daycare and the cholor(?) bacteria was too high
|
Yes - it tastes moldy, and has been for the past month or so. I suppose it's because of an algae bloom.
I think most people can't taste it - my spouse can't. What to do about it? |
DC water is awful. We don't have potable water at work due to the lead pipes. SWEET
I'm glad I'm not the only one -- I thought my taste buds were off due to a cold.
Us too, for the past week. Still tasted "green" after doing all of the usual - letting the tap run, and running it through the freestanding PUR filter. We've switched to bottled water for a few days. Ugh. |
Do you mean DCUMers worry about organic this-and-that, unhealthy school lunches, consuming sugar & additives, and GMOs - but you're still drinking tap water?
