I never heard this, but when I listen now - it makes sense that HE filed for divorce. He said after she left (saying it was vacation) he discovered the bank statements, the gift cards, he's been followed, something about the security cameras.
I totally believe him. Here's why - I don't think he "practiced" what he was going to say. I think he may have said it in a confusing way, got things a bit mixed up, but really all those things happened. At first he said "I discovered all these things missing (safe, dogs kids, etc.) but then says the next day was being pinged by the banks - accounts drained, then he started walking around the house - I think THAT's when he actually discovered the safe was empty, discovered the unpaid bills and put 2 + 2 together - then did more research and figured out all the gift card purchases. I think she told him she's going to vacation to FL, he thought, okay, she's in FL for vacation, then the bank stuff happened and THEN he discovered all these things.
Then he said "I immediately called the lawyer" so even though she left him high and dry, he called the lawyer, who probably told him - file for divorce ASAP so you can document everything.
Listeninng to the audio makes me TOTALLY believe him.
I haven't listened yet (still at work) but I don't think it's about believing if things went down the way they did, but more of, I guess, if he DESERVED it, or what caused it. Was it totally undeserving and out of left field? Did Kane do nothing to piss her off enough or make her feel unsafe enough to think that it was the best decision for her and her kids? Probably not.
There are THREE sides to this story - his, hers, and the truth. I don't doubt things happened that way, but I do doubt that Kane was an angel through the whole thing.
