| Do they ever go on sale at any of the grocery store chains? Ideally, I'd like to find them at the same price DS can buy milk at $.60 at the school, but I can only find them at my local Giant for $1.00. |
| They were on sale at Giant in Mclean at the beginning of summer and again two weeks ago at $9.99 for 12. They are usually about $13/14 I think. |
| We get them at BJs. I'll have to note the price next time for comparison purposes. |
I just saw them on sale a couple of weeks ago at Giant for $9.99 in Arlington. The 12 packs go on sale pretty regularly, but they sell out so you have to go to the service desk and get a raincheck and pick some up the following week. |
| they have chocolate at costco |
| How is I that they don't need refrigerating? I honestly don't get it |
Just like canned vegetables. Super heated/pasteurized. Airtight. |
| They are truly awesome a wonderful invention |
| Safeway has a generic organic brand that is cheaper. |
| Does it taste like regular milk? |
|
These things are a wildly expensive way to get a few ounces of milk into a kid. Must kids have milk with every meal?
|
no - kids don't need to have milk with every meal and they are pricey, but nice to have as a backup. I'm new to the K lunch making and plan on using some of the Horizon milks and sometimes filling a Nalgene bottle with milk or water depending on how much time I have to clean and prep the night before. I have noticed that my DC might not eat his lunch at all some days, but he does drink the milk I put in his lunchbox, so at least that's something... |
| if your kid can buy milk for 60 cent and the horizon milk is 99 cent why don't you just have him buy? |
Costco has chocolate and vanilla flavors. The Horizon is 18 boxes for $14.29. The costco organic brand is 18 boxes for $12.99. |
This is how the rest of the world does it. |
