Best sandwich in Old Town Alexandria?

Anonymous
Cheat day is around the corner, and we want some really good sandwiches. Difficulty: no burger, and no banh mi.

What sandwich do you recommend in Old Town Alexandria this weekend?

Agree with the lobster roll at Hank's. Haute Dogs also makes a good one. Waterfront Market makes an excellent, but huge Cuban sandwich and Balducci's Market makes a really good Italian hero (I know that that is not exclusive to Old Town). Enjoy.

While not in Old Town, but just down the street in Del Ray, I highly recommend the grilled cheese sandwiches at Cheesetique. The pimento cheese one is my personal favorite.

FYI - Hanks is only open for lunch on Friday.
Market 2 Market in Del Ray is very good.
Old Town Deli on Washington is also decent.

I'm the Hank's, Haute Dogs, Waterfront Market pp. Cheesetique in Del Ray is wonderful. Grape and Bean in Old Town (there's one in Rosemont too) makes nice sandwiches.

Does anyone else remember "Deli on the Strand" on Union? They baked the best fresh bread for sandwiches...

Bittersweet makes a good sandwich.

Society Fair is not that great and very overpriced for what you get.

Rode my bike to Deli on the Strand for a sandwich many a time growing up. Loved that place!
