Live around the corner and I agree.

Um, they're closed??? The storefront is empty.

There is a GREAT sandwich shop in the Belle View Shopping Center. Try out Bread & Water. Awesome sandwiches. My favorites are the Pulled Pork and the Egg Salad. Another option is Primo's for carryout. Their chicken salad on toasted Italian roll is awesome and very inexpensive.

Ok, all true. Buddy and i used to ride our bikes from FH to rock creek or pats north, and on the way back stoped at deli on the strand for amazing sandwiches. Sat out front on the benches and told lies. He ended up getting a job there when he could drive. One day manager Steve pulled out a machine gun he bought from guy at inter arms. No @#^&@*!! We were young and foolish and it was a great time. Steve also knew rootboy slim!!! We went to his house once and got totally baked w/ rootboy. Late 70’s and early 80’s old town was not yet what it is now. To many stories to tell tearing it up. O to be young again.

Rode my bike to Deli on the Strand for a sandwich many a time growing up. Loved that place!

I was thinking about this place too! UGH SO good! I remember being a tween and loving those monster sandwiches. They were $8 which was probably like $12ish now.

What a blast from the past - my sister worked there as a teenager about 30 years ago!

I used to work there too back in 90-92. So sad I just found out its gone. Didn't really care for sandwiches till I worked there. I'll never forget that place!!

The Italian Place has a sub called the Ovi that is pretty good. Not a lot of noteworthy Italian sub shops in the DC area anyhow.
