So I was bored today and grabbed my sister's measuring tape.
Big Mistake!!
My waist measured a whole 40'. Online I read on many reputable medical websites that a waistline over 34' means a person has a higher chance of getting cancer, a stroke, high blood pressure, diabetes and heart disease. And to think I just hated looking pregnant. Seriously, this scared me. |
|
Even a waist at thirty four inches is considered unhealthy these days.
your waist should be no more than twenty seven inches. |
Where did you hear that? A girdle store? |
| I thought the rule of thumb was your waist should be half your height or less to keep risk of CVD lower ... Don't remember if that is your natural waste or the plumpest part through the belly button. |
| I'm genetically predisposed to hypertension, and my doctor told me 30" max. |
|
Also depends on your genetics/background. Certain ethnic groups are more prone to apple shapes and this is completely normal for them, others sho are more hour glass or pear need to pay more attention to an expanding waistline.
That's why theses one size fits all prescriptions for health can be very misleading, |
Lol! |
Mine is 26 inches because I drink so much. Whole torso has a layer of fat and bloat. Can't wait to get it down a couple inches! 4 days no alcohol so far.
|
Is alcohol the main cause for wise waists? I thought it was carbs? |
wide not wise! |
Humble brag,
|
| I woke up after menopause and my waist was gone. When I was 30 and had a waist I also got cancer. |
| for me the main cause is carbs, I have like 10 drinks a year. |
| Eek. |
| Wow. A 40 foot waist. |
