Dina at Aveda Bethesda. Especially if you're looking for highlights (but she's great with all color). Not cheap, but she does an exceptional job. I have received many positive comments from other hairstylists on the way she colors my hair.

Thank you. Does she cut well too?

PP who suggested Dina. I have medium brown hair. She's done both highlights (blonde) and all over color (darker brown) for me.

And yes - she cuts well too. I'm always happy with the cuts, but mine are pretty basic. When I go to her (read: when I can justify spending the money), I go because of the way she colors my hair.

Garegin at Aveda Bethesda. Great at highlights (I have blonde) and cuts too.
Maybe that place just has terrific stylists (though the space is really TIGHT!)

Q for Pp - is that the same Lindsay who used to work at the salon underneath Montgomery Grill in Bethesda (at corner of Wisc Ave and Bethesda Ave) and then at a different salon on Wisc Ave close to the intersection with Woodmont? If so I went to her years ago and she was great!

I had an appointment with Lindsey today. She used to work at Montgomery Mall at the Lewis salon. So, it looks like it is a different LIndsey. btw my hair looks great! I really love the way she colors my hair.

Someone recommended Garegin to me for highlights and I thought they were terrible - way way too bright for me, in my 50s. He seemed disinterested in what I wanted too.

OOOppps, I am PP who just dissed Garegin - but as soon as I pressed submit I realized that it is the wrong guy. I've had Garegin for a cut and he was great. It was someone else at Aveda, another guy, who did a bad job. Think I'll get out of the business of offering negative comments, as they're too dangerous. Sorry people.
