Disney World next summer - mid-June or late August?

Anonymous
We want to go to Disney World next summer. I know that Disney is crazy all summer long, but is it any better at the very beginning or end of summer? Our kids get out of school on June 12 and probably won't start until the last week of August.

Any other tips for Disney World are appreciated.

Thanks!

The last week of August will be far less crowded. It will be HOT though. How old are your kids? How many do you have?

OP here. Thank you guys so much! I really appreciate it. I'm going to look at those websites and see what works best for us.

Our kids will be 9, 7, and not-quite-3 (which is why I want to go next year, to get the lower price on my oldest and free for my youngest). I figure we'll go again once the kids are teenagers and have the stamina to go from 9 AM to 9/10 PM, so this is really just for the kids to have fun in a great place.

Thanks again!

We went the week before school starts in August. It was so damn hot, and still so crowded. That being said, we had a great time. We did parks as soon as they opened, stayed till about 1, went back to the resort and did the pool until about 4 and then headed back to the park if we were up for it. The early morning hours and dinner time hours seemed to be the least crowded times.

August is like the 7th circle of hell at Disney. I wouldn't do it in either of those months, but I would choose June I guess. I vote early December. It is wonderful and not crowded.

I seriously considered WDW in August then switched to a Disney cruise at the last minute. No regrets. As soon as I walked off the plane in Florida I was slammed by the intense August heat and thanked the lord I had changed my plans.

Go in April. It was 93 degrees in late June, it's 99 now. In April it was 72 to 82.

Central Florida weather is more predictable in June-the earlier in June the better. While you might not get hit with a hurricane in Aug you would get the weather effects. June has the more predictable pm thunderstorm. See the last paragraph: http://www.tripadvisor.com/Travel-g34515-s208/Orlando:Florida:Weather.And.When.To.Go.html

You know you don't have to take your kids to Disney, right?

We went this year the week of June 21st. It was super crowded and super hot. When I was in HS, my mom took me at the very beginning of Sept (I missed my first day of school). It wasn't crowded at all. There were quite a few British tourists though.

NOT August (heck, not summer at all but definitely not August). We've done it and not only is it still insanely crowded but miserably hot to boot. I'll never go to Disney in the summer again.

Just came back from Disney 2 weeks ago and while the weather was hot, it wasn't unbearable and the crowds were definitely not bad, maybe a 5 or 6 out of 10. I'd pikc that same time again before I'd pick June when the crowds are high. The thing to do though is to stay onsite and get your fastpasses ahead of time and go with a plan. Make use of the information out there, disboards, com, touringplans.com, Disney's site, etc. Plan ahead for meals, rides, experiences ,etc.
