School Nurse and information on medicine (MCPS)

My son takes Keppra for seizures. He never takes it at school and he has had a Diastat (which is in case of a seizure at school), which is kept in the nurse's office. My son had 1 seizure 3.5 years ago and his doctor is taking him off Keppra slowly over 6 weeks. I mentioned it to the school nurse, because I wanted her to be aware that he was going off his seizure meds, so if something happened at school, she would be aware it was a possibility he may have a seizure (very slight).

Now she wants me to give her a note from the doctor stating the medication levels for each week. I really don't understand why she would ask for this. I'm not sure she is a nurse, maybe more like a health technician. In 4 weeks he will be off the meds. I think she is asking for something she has no business asking for. Am I being paranoid or is there a good reason for this? They have never known the amount of Keppra he took before since he only takes it at home.

We saw a geneticist this year and he counseled us on if the school system ever says they will do a purge of his medical file, take it and don't tell them too much in the future. (This was related to genetic issues, but I get that it is best not to have medical knowledge follow him from school to school. He said "be vague" and he will send a note explaining my son has an issue and it is undiagnosed.

So, assuming the nurse is asking this with the very best of intentions, she may be asking because she is envisioning a seizure taking place during the next few weeks as he is changing the meds. She is looking as to what she may need to tell people at the ER if she needs to take him via ambulance to the hospital because of the seizure.

Write out the medication levels and give them to her. Tell her you understand why she needs to know his medication levels because in the event of an emergency she would need that information. If she comes back to you and says that information needs to come from the doctor, tell her you will need an explanation as to why.

I doubt she wants it for any nefarious reason, so you may want to tone down your overreaction at her asking this.

Wait, so you plan to have your kid attend school with medical issues that could present as a serious situation but you don't want the school to know?

Very low reading comprehension level.

General parenting peeps, the school nurse wants the info to come from the doctor. If you have a Special Needs child, you would appreciate how much work this can be. And it doesn't sound like there's any reason why it needs to come from the doctor.
