| For the past several weeks now I've noticed that my stomach is getting upset after almost every meal. Not upset as in nausea, but painful gassy cramps that persist for at least an hour or more after eating. Some times are worse than others but it doesn't seem to matter what I eat. Any idea what this could be? Haven't noticed any other symptoms (no diarrhea, constipation, etc) and nothing has changed in my diet. |
| IBS. It can be hormone related. |
|
If there is actually gas (burps, flatulence) that go with this, then I don't know.
If it is just abdominal pain after eating, it can be a symptom of gallstones. (voice of experience) Get it checked out with your doctor before you end up needing emergency gallbladder surgery (also the voice of experience) Or perhaps to happily rule this out as a possibility. |
+1. I just had my gallbladder out yesterday and waited waaay tooo long to get it checked out. |
| Maybe you are allergic to wheat? It's called Celiac's disease |
I wonder if this could be it. I'm 7 months post-partum and still breastfeeding (period has yet to return, but I think it's close) so my hormones are probably all over the place. |
My friend started having IBS like symptoms. It started post partum and after a lot of tests turned out to be celiac. She was relieved when the doctors figured it out. |
If you want to get tested for celiac, OP, keep eating wheat and get a blood test so that the results are accurate. |
| Are you eating dairy at every meal? If so, it could be lactose intolerance. I started getting stomachaches after eating in my early 30s and finally realized dairy was the culprit. No problems since I cut back on dairy. |
| IBS. I have the same issue. |
| Celiac |
| Do you use a water filter? Could be time to change the filter. |
| Gluten intolerance, lactose intolerance, gallstones, ovarian cancer. Could be a bunch of things--get it checked! |
| parasites or worms |
No, it's called Celiac disease. |
