Is uva a prestigious college?

Not everybody is concerned with the cost and not everybody wants their child to attend a college where 70% of students come from a single state.


Correct me if I’m wrong, but every top 20 has majority in-state or in-region. Stanford mostly Cali, Harvard mostly MA, Penn mostly PA and NJ...

That's because those publics dictate the percentage of in-state students get seats. UCLA, UVA, UCs...

If they're so crappy, then why do they attract so many applicants and get so much research money?
