What are active-duty military folks saying about this? Real lives hang in the balance. With Hegseth and the other dunces at the helm, I'd be concerned. |
You sound annoyed that the journalist published this story, which fell in his lap due to a major f*** up by one of the people on the chat, when you should be more upset at the huge failure of national security that it represents. Ask yourself what your response would be if this incident happened when a Democrat was president. |
This is all so disgusting. All of them should resign and probably face charges.
The fact anyone is trying to blame the journalist for being INVITED to the group chat is incredibly messed up. This all proves Trumps cabinet is a joke. I can’t believe these are the leaders of the US. The Founding Fathers must be rolling in their graves at the stupidity of the electorate |
MAGA isn’t going to read the article. 😂😂 |
Here’s some color on this point: “Imagine the other foot. I know it’s exhausting to think about the “but her emails!” comparisons, but I’d like you to imagine for a minute what would have happened if Joe Biden’s National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan had accidentally added Tucker Carlson to a group chat about classified war plans? It’s impossible to imagine Sullivan lasting a single hour in office before resigning — this would be the biggest scandal of the Biden administration full stop. There would be Republican congressional hearings, the ole flurry of subpoenas, and calls across Capitol Hill for multiple officials to resign. And here’s the thing: They would all be right. Here’s a whole thread that Matthew Gertz pulled together of all the same officials from the group chat previously damning the mishandling of classified intel. And yet it seems all but impossible to imagine any of the Trump officials facing any punishment for this egregious violation of multiple federal laws. There is no shame in this administration — and that, in and of itself, should deeply deeply concern us as citizens. A functioning democracy requires public officials capable of shame and embarrassment and accountability.” https://www.doomsdayscenario.co/p/six-short-thoughts-on-the-most-insane-trump-story-of-all-time |
You know what is Sad? The fact you can’t see where the blame lies. About now you should be asking yourself why you voted for an incompetent and dangerous man to be President. The quality of the people he selects for his cabinet reflect on him. These are people he handpicked for these roles. |
What a world you live in. I have a hard time believing you have served in any professional capacity. Perhaps as an assistant at a NGO. Teacher? War plans aren’t “teachable moments.” It’s obvious you have no background in security or defense. I cannot imagine what organizations you have worked in where the standards are so low. |
Waltz will be fired. Not because of the breach but because Trump and ilk will wonder why Goldberg was in his phone. Leaker. |
Stop gaslighting. This mistake could not have happened if they were following protocol. None of this should be on Signal or on personal phones or include someone who was in Moscow at the time or include stupid emojis or copy-paste top secret details from a secured source to an unsecured phone to be shared on a group chat. |
+1 If you want to prosecute the journalist for "breaking the law" by remaining on a chat that he didn't ask to be added to and which wasn't marked in any way as "classified" go ahead. I think that would be a hard case to make. But it would be worth it, because it would be impossible to prosecute the journalist without prosecuting DUI hire Hegseth, VP Vance, Stephen Miller, Sec State Marco Rubio, Chief of Staff Susie Wiles, DNI head Tulsi Gabbard, NSA head Waltz and all the other people on that thread that broke several laws on national security, records management as well as protocols on troop safety by planning a war on a commercial platform. One guy was in Russia while he was on the chat. Lord knows what they pulled from the phone. |
What you said was dumb and now you're doubling down on it. |
Oh man. This Deep State is really really good. Are we sure we want to get rid of them? |
This is a good take. |
+1 Discovery would be lit. |
Right. Someone who receives classified information who is not cleared is not in trouble. The people with clearances that did are. |
