Trump's Madison Square Garden rally

Anonymous
I'm Cuban American in NY and these clips of Trump's nightmare rally are flying all over my social media and text chains right now.

This. Is. Not. Good.

The whole rally was so, so bad.

He sounds like the Nazi garbage he is

What’s he said that is nazi? I am listening to him. You tell us what he has said that is “nazi.” We are waiting.

Literally his is blaming everything people perceive to be wrong in the US (crime and inflation and the hurricane response and pets in Springfield in Ohio) on "illegals." He is scapegoating an ethnic minority by telling people that "they" are the problem.

"They are a threat to democracy." Where "they" is just immigrants. He said that regarding immigrants in Springfield who are LEGAL immigrants who were moved to Springfield for jobs and because they liked it there. That "they" are a threat to democracy.

This is exactly what Hitler did with Jews (and Catholics and gay people and disabled people). He fomented a revolution by convincing Germans to blame all their problems on an ethnic minority and claiming that "they" were trying to replace "real" Germans.

It is fascism.

Your side blames republicans for everything and says republicans are a threat to democracy.

Is that fascism?

No, because no one is proposing having the military round up Republicans, put them in camps, and deport them.

Because republicans are legal US citizens.

Your side blames republicans for everything and says republicans are a threat to democracy.

Sounds pretty fascist.

I mean, no...that doesn't sound fascist. But BTW, Trump blames absolutely everything on Democrats. Even when things are good, he spins it as bad and blames the Democrats. He calls them the enemy within. So you're admitting that in your mind and how you define fascism, he's fascist...right?

Are democrats fascist for saying republicans are a threat to democracy?

Is this like how maga learned the big word “communist” and they use the word to describe everything they don’t like?

DP. So much projection... "fascism" is clearly the LWNJ word of the decade. You people have rendered the word meaningless, just like you did to "racism." Nice going.

"fascism" is being discussed now because that is what Trump's chief of Staff called him...you know, the 4 star general? The dems are merely repeating his words.

And if you think Trump is doing this because he is losing badly, then you are missing a chance to make a lot of money right now because every betting market has him as a pretty heavy favorite given the polls and early results.

Hey there, thanks for chiming in! Can you please comment on the clips that have been posted here with speakers at the rally calling Puerto Rico a pile of garbage in the ocean, making racist jokes about black people and watermelon, calling the Democratic nominee a whore, and so on? Are you suggesting these speakers went rogue, no one in the Trump camp knew they would say such things, and that the MAGA crowd disapproved of them?

Thanks for your participation in this discussion.

Here's my take: Trump is the only politician in the world who would dare to put a professional comedian on-stage and allow him to tell edgy jokes that people think are funny. It's also a smart strategy, because as we see here, cat ladies will spend the next 2-3 days in meltdown, crying over these un-PC jokes. This is exactly the nanny schoolmarm nonsense (hello, Gwen Walz) that is turning off men in droves.

Keep it up!

And yet men wonder why they can't get married or stay married.

Fascism is Trump's word of projection. Just like he projects all his other failings and character weaknesses. But nice try there.

I didn’t see swastikas but there were lots of Israeli flags at this “nazi” rally. The left needs better more refined narratives IMO.

Not defending them, but did Trump really have many Puerto Rican supporters? He basically sh** all over the island and threw paper towels at hurricane victims.

We've been hearing for months how Trump is eating right into the Latino vote - people here have been crowing how there are hardly any Latinos left to vote for Harris, Trump's made so many inroads.

But on top of that - what you really don't need to do in the closing days of your campaign is tell a big group of voters that you hate them and think they are garbage. Remember how that worked out for Hillary and the deplorables? (And she was right, but she shouldn't have said it.) There are substantial groups of Puerto Rican voters in swing states - and in Florida, which is why Rick Scott is freaking out right now.

Trump didn’t say anything about Puerto Ricans.

Trumps’s rally was a huge success, so liberals and their allies in the media have attempted to sully and put a negative spin on his rally.

Bad Bunny has 40+ million followers on Instagram alone

Tim is now back tracking because Rick Scott bigly mad he just lost his senate seat

I mean... they were voting for Kamala Harris anyway. Why are you acting like this is some kind of "get"?

Wow. That was the crudest, most vulgar and hateful rally I have ever watched.

What I saw was sexist vulgarity against women, and racist comments against nearly every minority group in the US:
1. Clinton and Harris were both called sexist insults. Harris was said to have pimps and have low IQ.
2. Puerto Ricans were called garbage. Latinos were accused of having sex with the country and having lots of babies because of their pullout method.
3. Palestinians were stone-throwers.
4. Jews were cheapskates.
5. I'm sure I'm missing lots of other insults. Oh yes! The Black person in the audience was told something about watermelons but I didn't catch what it was.

Some of these stereotypes are true.

The US has dumped its garbage in Puerto Rico for years. It’s a form of environmental racism

No, they are stereotypes. They are true of everyone and false for everyone. There are cheap white people, there are Latinos that like watermelon and there are MAGAs who are garbage. But it is never a good trope to express or accept stereotypes for anyone, because they are rooted in some form of hatred.

It was a huge success for Harris, that's for sure. Nobody knew going in that Trump was going to be doing a bonus rally for her.

And they dare to ask for our votes??

the only reason the right likes Israel is for The Rapture, the Evangelical myth about the end of times and the rise of Jesus.

I think it’s safe to say he might have managed to lose Pennsylvania, Florida, Wisconsin…

I did not have Trump losing Florida over some no name bad stand up comic on my October Surprise Bingo Crd. But that’s largely because Trump turning off voters through huge self inflicted wounds and verbal diarrhea is a given at this point. Happy October Surprise! There was a lower level. And it runs through Florida (the FL piece is the surprise in my mind). Imagine, Harris wins FL, and it’s game over.

Are you stupid? Just because PR is used as a dump by the US you think it's OK to infer that Puerto Ricans are garbage and lesser than other Americans? Because that was the point of the "joke".

trump is always above the fray...he had someone else do the dirty work and it will cost him tens of thousands of not millions of votes, particularly in swing states, Florida, Arizona and Texas.
